Tenders and State aid are a niche within property law but are not limited to property. To be able to provide our clients high-quality services regarding all facets of procurement and State aid law, AK entered into collaboration with Karelijne Van Kampen in 2016.
After a career with law firms Pels Rijcken & Drooglever Fortuijn and Holland van Gijzen, where apart from other areas of law, she focused on procurement law and State aid law, Karelijne started her own firm in 2008. In the past few years, her practice has grown into a 100% procurement and State aid law practice.
“Within the area of State aid law, I act for the government. As for procurement law, I act both for the contracting authorities and the bidders. Since I work with both sides, I understand how the parties think and what problems they face. I can use this knowledge to give my clients the best possible service.”
Developments in procurement law follow each other in rapid succession. Furthermore, professional within this area of law must take into account the opinions of the Dutch Procurement Experts Committee (Commissie van Aanbestedingsrecht), court decisions and judgments of the European Court of Justice. To keep her knowledge up to date, in recent years Karelijne followed a number of highly specialised courses at Utrecht University and Leiden University.
