Personal injury department policy
We have had our Personal Injury department investigated by an independent consultancy firm (Q-Consult) in order to become eligible for the Personal Injury Quality Mark. These are the results.
The motto of AK Advocaten is: 'the client, the case and the relationship are number one'. The interests of the client are paramount. That is what we strive for. Our team radiates professionalism, expertise, enthusiasm and drive. The creation of realistic expectations and the provision of honest advice are in the very fibres of the personal injury department. The most important policy aspects are coordinated jointly in the department consultations.
The correspondence is clear and written in language that is understandable to the client. In case of the absence of a lawyer, a substitute will be arranged. There is always a personal injury lawyer available, and someone is always on standby duty and accessible by telephone.
The regulations of the Bar Association are the guiding principle for the minimal requirements we set for our employees. The professional development of our employees is supported through appraisal and assessment interviews. Our secretarial and legal support staff are very well informed. They are given the opportunity to extend their legal-administrative knowledge in the personal injury field by attending professional courses.
If necessary, experts are swiftly engaged (employment expert, medical adviser). The file is dealt with expeditiously. Correspondence is sent on and dealt with quickly. Our documentation is clear and uniform. Separate folders are opened for medical information, correspondence and financial information. The financial reporting in the files is thorough and transparent. In case of derogating financial arrangements (for example in a case involving a minor) communication with the parents is clear and transparent. This underlines the image that the interest of the client is paramount. AK Advocaten has professional indemnity insurance which covers € 3 million.
