Erik specialises in two areas of business law: bankruptcy law and the law of legal persons & corporate law. Not surprisingly, most clients that put their trust in this specialist knowledge of Erik are from the corporate sector. He advices them on the drafting of agreements, including shareholders’ agreements, purchase or sale agreements, including share purchase agreements, and several commercial contracts. He also represents entrepreneurs in legal disputes, such as commercial disputes, collecting issues, cases on directors’ and officers’ liability and shareholder disputes. He is not afraid to go to court, where necessary.
Erik is frequently appointed trustee in bankruptcy by the court. Thanks to this experience, he is able to offer sound advice to clients in financial difficulties, for instance on a restart, or directors’ liability and fraudulent acts in respect of creditors. Erik knows how a trustee in bankruptcy looks at things.
“I like working with and for entrepreneurs, people who usually are deeply passionate and convinced of being in the right. I gladly explore the best options for them, seeing it as a challenge to make what seems impossible possible. I believe that the dynamics in bankruptcies are the most interesting aspect of my work. In a situation that, figuratively speaking, resembles a pressure cooker, you must steer things in the right direction. That is why the work as trustee in bankruptcy is challenging.”
